Before there is a canvas, there is a feeling.
Before there is color, there is a question.
Before there is a painting, there is a story waiting to be seen.
WHY I PAINT

I didn’t begin painting because I dreamed of becoming an artist.
I began painting because I needed somewhere to place everything I was carrying.
It was one of the most difficult seasons of my life. I was unemployed, caring for my two young children, helping care for my mother after her stroke, and trying to navigate a world that had been turned upside down during the COVID-19 pandemic. While many people discovered new hobbies or learned to bake bread, I found myself reaching for paint.
What started as a quiet escape soon became something much more.
Each brushstroke gave shape to emotions I couldn’t always explain. Color became a language when words felt too small. The canvas became a place where I could breathe, reflect, grieve, hope, and slowly begin to heal.
Painting didn’t change my circumstances overnight, but it changed the way I carried them.
Today, my work continues to explore faith, identity, resilience, and the beauty found in becoming. Every painting is an invitation—to pause, to feel deeply, and perhaps to recognize a part of your own story reflected in mine.
Thank you for stepping into my world.
I hope you find a story here that feels a little like your own.
